Electricity engineers are to fly over the west of York between Monday and July 30 to inspect the condition of the area’s electricity network after a winter of gales and blizzards.
They will be taking high-resolution digital pictures of about four metal pylons from a helicopter and will later inspect them for any damage or deterioration that could lead to power cuts.
The half-mile stretch of high-voltage power line is responsible for the electricity supplies to thousands of properties in the area.
Farmers are being advised to consider bringing cattle or horses inside if the flight path crosses their land. Phone 08450 707 172 for further information.
