Who would have believed that the very same Robyn who bought us Show Me Love in ’97, would 13 years on be a real contender with the likes of Christina Aguilera, P!nk and belle du jour Lady Gaga?
In the same vein as Britney Spears’ Piece Of Me, which of course featured Robyn on backing vocals, Body Talk Pt 1 is an uncensored glimpse of a diary of an upwardly mobile, slightly bolshy Swedish starlet. Many will feel uncomfortable with the direct provocation of Don’t ******* Tell Me What To Do, and may not understand a word of Jag Vet En Dejlig Rosa. But that’s the point.
However, those seeking cutting-edge electronic music heaven should seek out this mini-classic. Body Talk Pt 1 promises to be the first in a trilogy of Robyn CD’s to be released in 2010. The sequels have a lot to live up to.
