AWARD-WINNING film director Ken Loach was the one in the frame as he received an honorary degree from the University of York.
The director, who made Kes and Looking For Eric, and who won the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for The Wind That Shakes The Barley, was among 11 honorary recipients to be presented with degrees this week.
Also receiving an honorary degree yesterday were author Anthony Horowitz, who also toured the new buildings at Heslington East, which will house the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, and Justice Albie Sachs.
Justice Sachs was one of the architects of post-apartheid South Africa in the early 1990s.
