FORMER Selby MP John Grogan has been named Beer Drinker Of The Year by the House of Commons’ All-Parliamentary Beer Group.
Mr Grogan was the chairman of the group from 2001 until he stood down before the last General Election. Conservative MP Nigel Evans, speaking at the beer group’s annual awards dinner, said Mr Grogan had been a “tireless voice” for the industry “who during his time in Parliament took every opportunity to champion beer and pubs”.
