TALENTED City of York Athletics Club ace Becky Tunnicliffe defied the odds to pick up a bronze medal in the javelin at the English Schools finals in Birmingham.

The teenager sealed a surprise third place in the under-17 girls’ javelin with a personal best throw of 40.65 metres.

“Becky is also waiting to see if she has been selected for the UK School Games in September.”
