Osbaldwick and Sheriff Hutton Bridge will collide in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-13 Championship play-off final tomorrow (10am).

Bridge toppled Zone ‘C’ champions Londesborough Park in the semi-finals to book their place in the showpiece at Bolton Percy, while Osso trounced Zone ‘A’ victors Selby.

Park batted first against Sheriff Hutton Bridge, with Ben Shingles (32) and Nathan Saltmer (24) taking them to 99-3.

However, Oliver Leedham (30) and Toby Latham (32) carried Bridge into the final at 101-2.

Selby failed to cope with the spin bowling of R Sheppeard 3-4, A Burton 3-6 and Jonny Rawsthorne 2-8 and were dismissed for 56.

D Harris then hit a quickfire 33 to see Osbaldwick into the final with a ten-wicket win in the 12th over.

Londesborough picked up a win in round two of the Hirepoint U13 Cup, beating Clifton Alliance by 37 runs.

J Hanley got 31, Saltmer hit 20 and Ben Byas made 20 in their 107-3.

A haul of 2-6 by S Croft knocked the stuffing out of Alliance, who closed on 70-7 despite J Bean making 30.

In round two of the Plate, Ovington (70-2) sprang a surprise at Bishopthorpe (66-7).

Dom Kitching hit 33 to put Ovington into the semi-finals.

S Harland made 32 for Malton (72-4), but they went down to Osbaldwick (73-5), with Rawsthorne hitting 30.

Yapham (73-5) went down to Woodhouse Grange (75-6), who had Freddie Collins (30) in batting form.

Meanwhile, back-to-back wins saw Easingwold close their season in style and clinch second place in Zone ‘A’ of the Burn & Company Solicitors U9s League.

Easingwold (282) beat Ovington (238) with C Hudson getting 24 runs and taking 0-2 and J Wright hitting 22 and claiming 2-1.

They then beat York ‘B’ (278) by 53 runs.

Despite the two victories, Easingwold missed out on the play-offs.

The best runner-up spot went to Stamford Bridge from Zone ‘C’.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Acomb ‘B’ (377) rounded off their campaign in Zone ‘B’ with a convincing victory against Selby ‘B’ (163).

A Sanderson hit 22 and took 5-1, while D Watkinson made 35, N Hutton 28 and C Brooks 27. T Brown took 4-1.
