FIREFIGHTERS rescued a sleeping woman from house after a blaze broke out.
Two fire appliances were sent from York to the property in Navigation Road which began at 6.41pm on Saturday.
The fire started in a grill pan in the kitchen of the three-story building.
The woman, who was unharmed, was lead to safety by firefighters.
The fire was caused by cooking left unattended.
