IN the mini-budget, the chancellor has told all departments to make severe cuts. Everyone was going to suffer.
However, a few have been exempt from the cuts – one is overseas aid. Why is this? Why should the country continue to give money to the likes of India, China and Russia when we have a massive debt to clear?
The general public are not too happy about this and rightly so. It would appear George Osbourne has got wind of this and has decided to either scrap overseas aid altogether, or reduce it tremendously. In my opinion, it should be scrapped completely. Let countries where our aid has gone in the past support themselves.
