Tadcaster Grammar School was transported back to 1960 for a day as the school celebrated 50 years on site at Toulston.
Members of staff were joined by former colleagues and pupils to take part in various golden jubilee activities.
All lessons were taught as they would have been in 1960, with students divided into houses and an appropriate assembly being held to start the day.
Suitably attired in 1960s clothing, all members of staff entered into the spirit of the event, with most teachers wearing a gown.
Students were served traditional fare of shepherds pie or toad-in-the-hole, and rice pudding with prunes or jam, for lunch.
