COMPOSTING experts in York are advising residents to continue composting tea bags despite national reports that tea bags are only 70 to 80 per cent biodegradable.
Catherine Bamford, York Rotters project officer, said: “Any material that is not compostable will still be visible in the finished compost and can easily be picked out.”
The advice by York Rotters is in line with the government organisation, WRAP.
