HOW I agree with Charles Hutchinson’s account of the London presentation of The Railway Children (The Press, July 16).
Like Charles, it was my third viewing. How proud I was to be a Yorkie and a supporter of the Theatre Royal.
I was there at a matinee performance, joining lots of school parties, families, many with grandparents anxious to relate their own steam experiences and foreign tourists.
The sound effects were wonderful, bringing back many memories of journeys when the rails seemed to talk to you.
I am now eagerly looking forward to the Theatre Royal’s summer production of The Wind In The Willows, more happy childhood reading, being brought to life by a wonderfully talented team.
