THE Hunters York & District Senior League suffered their first defeat of the Joe Lumb Under-17s cricket campaign as they went down by five wickets against Idle.

Bradford won the toss at Idle and put the visitors in to bat on a damp pitch and York were bowled out for 117.

Opener Simon Lambert was the only batsman to show any resistance, being seventh out after scoring a fine 52.

Bradford were made to work hard for their runs by some tight bowling and two excellent run outs, but they won in the 41st over. York’s Jordan Gross took 2-20.

The York Senior League have qualified for a play-off place and will be at home against as yet unconfirmed opponents.
