RECENTLY a car driver (all gold neck chain and Elvis haircut) nearly ran me down in his haste to park on double yellow lines in Kings Square.

I leapt on to the kerb just in time. Then I watched in amazement as he re-adjusted his disabled parking sticker on the dash then calmly got out and walked briskly away into town. An hour later his car was still parked.

What angers me about this cheat is the fact that although I am disabled, I don’t qualify for a disc. The ability to park that bit nearer to the shops would aid me tremendously because I have difficulties carrying shopping long distances.

It’s about time such blatant abuse was stopped and made fairer for all.
