Children, staff and parents at Sheriff Hutton Pre-school are celebrating after the playgroup received a “good” rating from Ofsted inspectors.
The Ofsted report said the “children [are] engaged in what they do and move around the pre-school freely and purposefully.
It also highlighted the “interesting range of quality play and learning opportunities”.
The pre-school achieved an overall “good” rating, with two “outstanding” features.
Sarah Holdsworth, the pre-school’s manager, said: “We are delighted with the report and I am very proud of all the staff and children who come here.”
Parent Victoria Selby-Jerrold said her son had made excellent progress since starting at the pre-school.
She said: “It’s such a welcoming and caring place. It’s no surprise to me that they have received this excellent report.”
Sheriff Hutton Pre-school Playgroup is based at the village hall and looks after children from 30 months old to school age.
