LORDY – who would be a bus driver, eh? Especially when they have passengers like Tony Baker to deal with (Letters, July 16).
He complains he could not use his bus pass before 9am, but doesn’t he realise the time is on the driver’s ticket receipt and he would probably have to pay the shortfall in his takings himself?
Also, the time limits are enforced by the council, not the bus company, which has to answer to them if they started issuing free rides.
If Mr Baker has to travel before 9am, he should put up and shut up and be grateful he gets up to 14 hours a day (unlimited at the weekends) free travel.
