Voulez-Vous is one of the most perfect albums in the history of recorded music. Kicking off with the classically influenced string motif As Good As New before launching into the relentless disco fury of the title track, the album caught ABBA at the zenith of their powers.
Undoubtedly more sophisticated than earlier glories, it also offered Angeleyes, I Have A Dream, Chiquitita and Does Your Mother Know. Dare I suggest that Voulez-Vous contains more classics than Sgt. Pepper?
This deluxe edition is augmented with tracks that didn’t make the original 1979 LP, such as Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and the full-length version of Summer Night City, plus a DVD of appearances on Multi Coloured Swap Shop, Mike Yarwood’s Christmas Show, and one of the greatest concerts of all time: Music for UNICEF. Fantastic!
