CHILDREN at St Oswald’s CE Primary School have knitted a scarf to petition Prime Minister David Cameron.
The 16-metre long football scarf was knitted by about 20 children who take part in the school’s lunchtime knitting club.
Early years leader Debbie Nott said the children had signed their names on the scarf to petition the Prime Minister to support the Global Campaign for Education.
The school supports the charity every year and decided to make a football scarf to take part in the World Cup and to recognise that half of the children denied education are from Africa.
Debbie said: “There are 72 million children who aren’t in education at the moment. The idea is that the Prime Minister will work with other world leaders to get more children into school.”
