TEENAGE fundraisers from York have urged the public to support their fundraising trek, and help make a dream come true for a girl with a debilitating disease.

Billy Gregory and Alex Platt, both from Easingwold, will be setting off on a tandem from John O’Groats to to Land’s End, to raise money for charity.

Billy, 18, said: “We have taken on this challenge to try and raise as much money as possible for a charity called Dreams Come True. Every child has a dream. Making that dream come true for terminally or seriously-ill child not just brightens their life, it is a gift of joy and wonderful memories that parents and family will treasure forever.”

By completing the 874-mile trip, Billy and Alex hope to raise £1,000 for 16-year-old Elisha Sanderson, who has cystic fibrosis. With the money raised, the charity will take Elisha on a luxury shopping spree, followed by a family meal to say thank you for their love and support.

Alex said: “This really is such a worthy cause, so please help Elisha get her dream and help us in achieving our target. We really appreciate all your support and donations.” To make a donation, visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/ alexandbilly
