A YORK community came together at the weekend as a four-day summer celebration came to an end.
The Dunnington Playing Fields Fayre saw visitors enjoy attractions including a race-walking competition for children and adults, a dog show, a tug-of-war content and a display by a mountain bike stunt team, as well as bidding to win first prize in the fancy dress stakes.
The event, which kicked off last Wednesday with a comedy night and also included a summer barbecue and music from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s during its four-day run, drew to a close on Saturday night with live music from party band The White Keys and a disco at the Dunnington and Grimston Sports and Leisure Centre.
