ENGINEERS are to carry out work below the south-western end of Lendal Bridge in York city centre.
The work will be on the archway over the footpath alongside the River Ouse, near the rowing club.
A City of York Council spokeswoman said: “The metalwork will be stripped back and repainted and the stonework repointed.
“Access over the bridge will not be affected. Only pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be allowed to pass under the bridge. Vehicular access to the rowing club will be via the Esplanade car park.”
