DENTISTS from North Yorkshire have raised £480 by dressing up as characters from a children’s book.

Staff from Poppleton Dental Practice decided to have a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on behalf of oral health charity Dentaid.

The funds, which were raised by donations, guess the weight of the fruitcake competition and a raffle, will be used to help develop oral hygiene schemes in countries including Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and all across the developing world.

Dentaid’s head of fundraising, Diane Platt, thanked the team, and encouraged further fundraising.

“We are always so very grateful to anyone who wishes to support us and the vital work that we carry out and I urge anyone who has been inspired by Poppleton Dental Practice to get in contact with us and find out ways in which they can help,” she said.
