KNARESBOROUGH won the race to claim the first title in the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League as they lifted the division five championship.
A victory over relegated Sheriff Hutton sealed top place and they will be joined in division four next season by Fulford, Copmanthorpe or Dunnington.
Bishopthorpe and Sutton-on-Derwent look to be heading towards division five.
Their top-of-the-table clash was a thriller, with Sutton pair Anna Fell and Lucy Collier winning 8-4 9-3 10-2 to clinch the vital points.
David Lloyd and Dunnington are being pushed all the way for the division four title by fast-finishing Riccall.
Appleton Roebuck beat second-placed Rowntree Park 55-53 to stay top of division three.
Marilyn Almgill and Anthea Brogden were unbeaten as they claimed 21 hard-fought games.
