Year 5 and 6 pupils from Tadcaster East Community Primary School take a break during a visit to the Wildlife Habitat Protection Trust site near Church Fenton.
Exploring, building dens, birdwatching, looking for deer and following a nature trail were all enjoyed in the safe environment at the site.
The children also had the chance to look at the wildlife in and around the large pond, which is the central feature of the site, and learned about beekeeping.
The visit was financed by Sainsbury’s as part of their ongoing support for the local community.
James Dale, manager of the Tadcaster store, said: “Sainsbury’s are proud to support the Wildlife Habitat Protection Trust in respecting wildlife and encouraging local pupils to get close to wildlife.”
