THESE Busy Bees at St Oswald’s CE School in York have been raising money for a beehive conservation project.
Year 1 pupils at the school became concerned about the rapid decline in honey-bee numbers after studying mini-beasts last term.
They decided to do something about it by taking part in the Adopt A Beehive scheme by the British Beekeepers’ Association.
To raise money, the five- and six-year-olds baked honey treats with ingredients donated by Asda and Sainsbury’s.
The items were then sold at the school’s sports day.
