Derwent Primary School captain Leigh Stockton celebrates the York District Schools’ Primary FA Cup win with his jubilant team-mates
A FOUR-GOAL blast from Casey Stewart saw Derwent Primary School footballers surge to cup final glory.
Stewart’s haul and a goal from Conor Calam helped the Osbaldwick school to a 5-1 victory over Dunnington in the final of the York District Schools’ Primary FA Cup.
Will Jones was the goalscorer for Dunnington, who played their part in a keenly-fought contest.
A spokesman for Derwent said: “Although the final score was 5-1 in our favour, it was by no means a walk over.
“Casey Stewart was the star of the show.”
