POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an expensive mountain bike was stolen from the University of York.

The Ibis Mojo bike, worth £4,500, was stolen from the roof rack of a black Vauxhall Corsa in the north car park of the campus some time between 2pm and 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The bike is a very distinctive model with an unusual grey carbon-fibre frame, Fox Float RLC suspension forks and black Stans ztr 355 wheel trims with red and white text.

Police inquiries have established that there may have been three suspects involved who made off towards Hull Road.
