TWO North Yorkshire-based RAF servicemen went head-to-head in a cooking competition for a new TV programme in York.
The Street Market Chefs show, presented by Amanda Lamb, will be shown on channel Five.
RAF Senior Aircraftmen Ian Mark, 23, and James Wilmott, 24, are both responsible for food preparation and cooking at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
Squadron Leader Angela Unsworth said: “James and Ian were volunteered to participate and they were quite nervous. But it was a fantastic opportunity for them to show everybody what they can do.”
Street Market Chefs is a ten-part series that will be filmed at eight different farmers’ markets around the UK to celebrate local producers and at local markets. Johanna Dyer, executive producer of the show, said: “We’ve sourced our pork from a local pork breeder to show the best of what the area has to offer.”
Ian prepared fillet of pork stuffed with apple and cranberries, while James cooked pork with a langoustine and olive salad.
