TWO men were arrested and another hospitalised following an incident in York.

Police said a 26-year-old suffered cuts to his head, chest and arm during a disturbance involving a group of men in Water Lane, Clifton, at 10.30pm on Thursday night.

A 41-year-old man and a 26-year-old were arrested in connection with the disturbance.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The 26-year-old has been charged with assaulting a police officer and using threatening words and behaviour towards ambulance staff.

He will appear at York Magistrates Court on August 13 and he has been bailed in connection with other offences while inquiries continue.

“The 41-year-old man has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.”
