WHY does this Government view pensioners like modern lepers?
Having worked all their lives for a pittance of a pension, the Government now wants the pension age to rise to well beyond 65 years. We are reaping the whirlwind of governments of the past who held a cavalier attitude towards the pension pot, which turned out never to have existed. All our pension money goes into the general fund for use elsewhere. I leave it to your imagination what “elsewhere” actually means.
It makes sense to give employment to a frustrated out-of work younger generation and let the pensioners enjoy their twilight years in peace and contentment. This Government’s mantra of “Born free, but taxed until death” is not a civilised answer.
