TALENTED youngster Jimmy Henry O’Neill is fast becoming a master of martial arts.

The 11-year-old, who lives near Malton, is already a British kickboxing champion with Ryedale-based United Martial Arts and is now starring as a Thai boxer with York’s Way of Life gym.

The 35 kilogram fighter’s first Thai boxing bout brought a landslide points victory over Kyle O’Malley, of Spartan gym, on the recent Civic Unrest bill in Rochdale.

Andy Wilby, of Way of Life, believes Henry O’Neill is one of the most gifted boxers he has seen in that age bracket.

Trainer Wilby said: “He fought fantastically. He took him apart.

“He wanted to try Thai boxing and I know his kickboxing coach Tony Dias, so he put us in touch.

“He is going to get better and better. He will go far.”

The Way of Life club meets at the Multi Masters Academy in Layerthorpe, York.
