A BUSY York street will be closed for the second time this year from next week as a resurfacing project gets underway.

East Parade in Heworth will be shut to motorists during the day for three weeks from Monday as improvements are carried out to the surface and new road markings are put in place.

Parts of East Parade will be closed between 9.15am and 4pm throughout the three-phased scheme, with no on-street parking available and buses being diverted along alternative routes.

More information on the diversions can be found by phoning 01904 557400, but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

East Parade was the subject of a road closure at the start of the year when £650,000 worth of improvements aimed at reducing the risk of flooding were carried out.
