A DISTINCTIVE Scarborough property with views of the resort’s North Bay could be yours for only £35,000.
That is the asking price for a new chalet in Scarborough and the colourful little huts are being snapped up.
Rachel Dean, director of Escape 2 The Sands which is the management company for chalet owners Endeavour, said 15 of the 35 chalets for sale have been sold on a 104-year lease.
She said a total of 39 new chalets were put up with the remaining four being used for rental.
Anyone buying one of the chalets for sale will get only one room with a sink, cold water tap, cordless kettle, a few kitchen units and a double electricity socket. But it is the view that makes the chalets, which cannot be slept in, so desirable.
She said: “It is a lot of money, but they are worth it. The families who have bought the first 15 chalets have been renting for years and I think it’s more cost-effective to buy one.”
