York may well be home to Britain’s most mischievous kitten according to the owners of loveable rascal Tup.

If they are right, Tup could bag them a £1,000 prize and a year’s supply of Felix cat food Matthew Williams has entered his six month old kitten into the 2010 Felix Kitten Factor. The nationwide search for the UK’s most mischievous kitten.

He said: “Since day one, Tup has kept me entertained. It’s probably easier to list the mischievous things she doesn’t do. Tup tends to be a bit of a scavenger, has scratched and pulled up the carpet and hangs off the furniture. I even wake up in the morning now to find Tup suckling my chin. We want the people of York to show their support for mischief and get behind us and vote for Tup."

Kitten owners can submit an entry by visiting the Felix Kitten Factor website catslikefelix.co.uk/mischief. Simply upload a photo of your kitten and explain why he or she deserves the title of Britain’s most mischievous kitten.

All the entries will be displayed online and what’s more – the competition is open to the public vote.

The competition closes on September 5.
