Spectators were in a spin watching BMX stunts at a new competition at The Zoo skatepark in York.
More than 20 enthusiasts entered the event, organised by Bob Trotter Cycles, with a BMX worth £320 and other prizes up for grabs.
Organiser Steve Barker said: “This was the first BMX competition in York for some time, and everyone who turned up enjoyed it and specifically mentioned the great atmosphere.
“All of the riders outperformed all expectations, pulling big tricks and smooth transitions. The beginners performed way above their class, and the advanced finalists were simply exceptional. The choice between the beginner category winners was very difficult to make, if we’d have had two bikes we would given one to each.
“We were grateful that The Zoo allowed the use of the venue and to everyone who turned up and helped out.”
