GREEN-FINGERED villagers in Cawood are going for gold.
The village is hoping to improve on its silver award following the latest judging in the Yorkshire In Bloom competition.
The village was awarded a Silver award in the spring judging in the Large Village Section of the compettion.
The judges have now returned, visiting the village school for the first time and seeing the work carried out by pupils in the school’s vegetable garden. A Cawood In Bloom committee member said: “We are one of the smallest villages in our section and keep trying new initiatives to impress the judges.”
