A PIECE of farm machinery was virtually destroyed after an electrical fault caused it to catch fire near York.
Fire crews from Acomb and Helmsley were called to the scene of the blaze at Colton Lane, Colton, just after noon yesterday, spending about 75 minutes dealing with the flames in a corn dryer.
The fire also destroyed 12 tonnes of wheat which were being held in the corn dryer.
