WITH reference to Bob Waite on the burqa (Letters, August 3), he implies that all Labour voters follow a politics of envy. Envy of what?
What an insulting thing to say. I come from County Durham, with a mining background of decent, hard-working parents and grandparents, who only wanted a roof over their heads, food on the table, clothes and shoes to wear.
I, like them before me, vote Labour and like them, do not envy other people. I am happy with what I do have.
Money and possessions are not the be-all-and-end-all of life.
Anyway, what has voting Labour got to do with the burqa and being subservient to men?
Mrs M Robinson, Broadway, York.
