ARTIST Richard Stansfield will hold a cartooning workshop at the Yorkshire Museum tomorrow as part of the York Museums Trust’s Adult Learning programme.
The workshop, called It’s Cartoon Time!, will be held from 2pm to 4pm and is primarily intended to help adults with no previous experience of drawing learn a few of the basics from an established cartoonist.
Mr Stansfield, who is an illustrator for the York Museums Trust, plans to show students how to create their own animal cartoons by using the Yorkshire Museum’s many animal specimens for inspiration, and is keen to encourage budding cartoonists to develop their own individual styles.
Artistic equipment is included with the entrance charge of £5 and will be provided at the workshop.
Readers of The Press will be familiar with Mr Stansfield’s work as the creator of The Press’s regular political cartoon Yorkatt and Eric.
