IT is not just the children who are growing at a York nursery, since a new raised vegetable plot was fitted by a local store.
Staff at Kaleidoscope Nursery, in Queen Anne’s Road, are teaching their pupils about where their food comes from with the help of a new Sainsbury’s store.
Michelle Shields, manager of the store in Bootham, built the plot to help educate the children.
She said: “We thought it would be good if we built the nursery a vegetable patch so the children could grow their own groceries.”
