RACHEL Williams has been selected to fight the forthcoming by election in City of York Council’s Hull Road Ward, triggered by the resignation of Labour councillor Roger Pierce, for the Liberal Democrats.
Rachel, who lives just off Lawrence Street and contested the seat in the 2007 council elections, said the number of houses of multiple occupancy in the ward was clearly a concern for local people and she would be supporting proposals to ensure they continued to require planning permission when discussed by council over coming months.
