York Post Office has been chosen as one of only 30 branches across the UK to offer special Post & Go pictorial stamps featuring some of Britain’s favourite feathered friends.
On sale from today at the branch in Lendal, the Garden Birds stamps are the first in the Birds of Britain series of pictorial stamps issued by Post & Go terminals,a self-service arrangement which allows customers to weigh their letters and packets, and pay for and print postage labels.
The second set in the Birds of Britain series will be available from all Post & Go machines at Crown post offices from next year.
The six stamps, which can be overprinted on the Post & Go terminal with a range of postage values, feature illustrations of the robin, starling, house sparrow, blue tit, goldfinch and wood pigeon.
