FLASH floods caused traffic disruption in Pocklington yesterday as water brought mud down from the fields to Kilnwick Road and Fishpond Hill, between Percy Road and Featherbed Lane.
The road, the B1246, was closed in both directions, affecting traffic travelling out of Pocklington towards Bainton.
Humberside Police were notified at about 5.15pm and closed the road.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council workers were on site yesterday evening to clear the mud and water, which was two to three feet deep. Police advised people to avoid the area if possible.
