A NEW team of council bosses has been unveiled in York following a shake-up aimed at saving £417,000 a year.
City of York Council is reducing its number of assistant directors from 21 to 16, with one further post to be cut by 2012. The new assistant directors will take up their posts on November 1.
In the adults, children’s and education services directorate, the roles will be held by Anne Bygrave (adult assessment and safeguarding), Graham Terry (adult provision and transformation), Eoin Rush (children’s specialist services), Jill Hodges (education), Paul Murphy (integrated commissioning) and Kevin Hall (school planning and organisation).
Within the city strategy section, the appointments are Mike Slater (planning and sustainable development), Richard Wood (strategic planning and transport) and Roger Ransom (economy and asset management), while the communities and neighbourhood services area sees Steve Waddington tasked with the role within housing and public protection, Julie Goodyear with environment and Charlie Croft with communities and leisure.
Pauline Stuchfield (customers and people), Andy Docherty (legal, governance and IT) and Keith Best (financial services) will take the assistant directors’ roles within the customer and business support services directorate, and Tracey Carter will hold the role for policy, performance and partnerships in the office of the chief executive.
