Each of the young soldiers from Waterloo, Cambrai and Peninsula companies took part in one of three parades at Uniacke Barracks, at the end of their first six weeks of training.

They removed their college berets and replaced them with their new regimental headdress, to represent the completion of their first period of initial training. The Commander of the British Army’s Initial Training Group, Brigadier Ben Bathurst, inspected the troops and took the salute.

Lt Col Steve Ocock, the Commanding Officer of the college, said: “These 16 and 17-year-old soldiers have achieved a great deal during the past six weeks and they can be proud of how far they’ve come.”
