THREE of York’s upcoming Thai boxers have continued to make an impact in the county, writes Tony Kelly.
Chok Dee Thai Boxing club-mates Dan Malarkey and Ben Kirby triumphed against home-based Calder TBC rivals at Halifax, while another Chok Dee warrior, Matthew Reading, won in Manchester against an opponent from the Master ‘A’ club.
All three wins were on points with Malarkey the closest to a stoppage to the delight of Chok Dee chief instructor and former world champion Richard Cadden.
Said Cadden: “The three lads were points winners and all put in great performances.
“Dan will be quickly back in action as he is fighting on the Bad Company bill in Leeds on November 13.”
The Chok Dee club – based at Fitness First in Clifton Moor – is open to beginners through to experienced fighters.
For further details phone Cadden on 07887 812139.
