THE Press of October 16 revealed the price of tickets for those wishing to watch the 2012 Olympics.
For the 100m final, prices from £20 up to £725. The opening ceremony £20.12 (coincidence?) up to £2,012 (coincidence?). The closing ceremony £20.12 up to £1,500.
Add to those figures travel, meals, accommodation an maybe watch a few events will make the cost almost unaffordable for many whose Lotto tickets and taxes have contributed to producing this Olympic extravaganza.
It is more than likely that the prices already made known will be reflected in every form of service offered to those attending the event (I shudder at the thought of the cost of a 99 cornet).
After all this, according previous Olympics, there may well be a large deficit on the final balance sheet.
