SHE has already represented her country in one beauty contest – now York fitness instructor and model Caroline Duffy is through to the national final of another competition.
In 2008, Caroline, from Penyghent Avenue, Burnholme, jetted off to the Philippines to represent England in the international Miss Earth final after winning the national final of the green contest.
Now she has been named Miss York Galaxy and will go through to the Miss England Galaxy at the Daresbury Park Hotel, Cheshire final on February 19.
The winner will go through to the Galaxy International pageant next summer in America.
Caroline, 23, who works as a fitness instructor at Emperors gym in Skeldergate, York, and will be a fully qualified personal trainer by the end of the year, said she won the York contest after sending photographs of herself to organisers and telling them a bit about herself.
“I’m so happy to have a York title, as I’m so proud to be from the most beautiful city in England, and I want everyone to know how wonderful York really is,” she said.
“I also want to use my title to raise lots of money for charities, and hope to attend many charity events throughout the year as Miss York Galaxy.” She said that if any charities or other organisations wanted her to help them at events, they could e-mail her at caroline_duffy19@hotmail.com.
“I would appreciate a small donation to charity if I were to attend any events,” she said.
Caroline revealed that she was about to take up running, and hoped to sign up to a 10k run in Yorkshire over the next few months and raise some money for charity.
