A revolutionary drama production at a York school is giving audiences a taste of something different. Simon Benson, head of drama at Bootham School, said: “Each evening has seen the staging of two plays; My Name Is Rachel Corrie, by Alan Rickman and Katharine Viner, and The Passion From The Mysteries, by Tony Harrison.
In addition, the poet and writer John Siddique has been working with more than a dozen students from across the school this term – creating an anthology of original work that will also be published and performed as part of the event.”
Bootham’s art students have created a series of installations in the school theatre aimed at developing the theme of the evening.
The final production takes place tonight. The exhibition opens from 6.45pm and the production starts at 7.15pm.
