TERRINGTON Hall’s 1st XV’s unbeaten rugby season has been capped with three of its members selected to represent the U13 Northern Prep School Barbarians team.
Captain Matthew Wilson and team-mates Hugh Buchanan and Filimoni Savou all impressed at trials held at Sedbergh School in Cumbria.
Savou, whose trademark agility and speed caught the eye will play at outside centre. The son of former Fiji sevens coach and player Josateki Savou, he joined Terrington Hall on a sports scholarship from Fiji in September.
Scrum-half Wilson captains East Yorkshire U13s, while Buchanan is a second row forward.
Narrowly missing out on selection were Jake Esler and U11 player Charlie Buchanan.
The Year 8 pupils will now represent the Barbarians against a Midlands team at Worksop College on November 28.
The best players for the Northern and Midlands teams will be merged to face a combined team from the South East and South West, meeting at Rugby School in February from which the All England Barbarians side will be selected.
