SIX members of York Hospital’s cardio-respiratory department will take part in this year’s Santa Dash to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The race takes place on Sunday, at 10.30am, and leaves from York City Rowing Club, on the banks of the Ouse, near Lendal Bridge.
Jane Allen, head of the department, said: “The British Heart Foundation has always supported the cardiology department at York Hospital and at the moment they are raising money for a third cardiac ultrasound machine. By taking part in the Santa Dash we are helping with the fundraising ourselves and hopefully raising awareness of this important campaign.”
Anyone can take part in the one mile fun run, although under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult. All over 16s are requested to make a minimum donation of £5. Adult-sized Santa suits are provided and participants are asked to arrive early to collect them. There will be a fancy dress competition for children and prizes include passes to the Ice Factor at the York Designer Outlet.
